Scalp (Hair Growth) Microneedling

COMBINATION THERAPIES FOR HAIR LOSS:

-  PRP

-  Microneedling

-  Amniotic Tissue (Growth Factors)

-  Mechanical treatments (Red LED light therapies)

WHY MICRONEEDLING:

-  Unblocks the follicle entrance

-  Reduces excessive oil

-  Kills bacteria caused by dandruff and inflammation

-  Enhance stem cell metabolism activity, opening the delivery channel for nutrients

-  Enhances nutrient delivery to the stem cell (keratin cells)

-  Stem cell hair growth factors inhibit DHT

-  Provide essential nutrients and growth factors to stimulate the dermal layer to

   prolong and strengthen hair roots

HOW DOES THE PROCEDURE WORK:

Microneedling works by causing small, pin-prick sized wounds in the skin. These aren’t wounds in the classic sense of the word, however, and microneedling should not cause bleeding when done correctly (both at the right depth and with the right amount of pressure). These “wounds,” however, initiate the three healing phases which skin typically undergoes after trauma. This stimulates collagen production, as well as the production of new skin cells.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

There is minimal discomfort associated with this procedure and almost no downtime.  Skin will appear flushed and red immediately after treatment, you may experience a "sunburn" like sensation.  This normally subsides within 24 hours.  You may also experience some minor swelling or bruising at the injection sites.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

It depends on the type of hair loss.  One treatment will not sort out the problem.  For optimal results 4 - 6 treatments are suggested (once again, depending on the type of hair loss).  Treatments are however spaced 3 - 4 weeks apart in order to obtain optimal results.  Maintenance treatments may be required every 3 - 6 months.  Results may very per individual.

WILL YOU SEE RESULTS IMMEDIATELY?

Results are not immediate, hair growth will start to become visible about 3-4 months after your initial treatment as the platelets stimulate the growth factors which assist in more hair growth. This will gradually improve over the ensuing months. Results on any treatment may vary per individual as everybody is different and may respond differently to treatments mentioned.

PROCEDURE SIDE EFFECTS:

The area treated is usually swollen for a few hours to two days and there may be some bruising. Your own blood is used so allergies or reactions are not a concern with PRP and there is no risk of scarring or changes in pigmentation. Therefore medical needling can be used in Asian and dark skin.

COST:

The complete therapy procedure takes around 45 minutes and costs from R 1 800.00 per session (depending on the size of the area and the type of treatment.
